Kevan France

Joining NCS 14 years ago gave me the opportunity to write for a wide audience.

My background is in teaching, twenty years as a headteacher, and community work.

My work has been produced on local radio and at theatres in North Cumbria. A radio play, Strangers In Paradise was produced during the pandemic by Penrith Players. It can still be found on You Tube

All Quiet On The Family Front, a play in which a disturbing family secret is revealed and Carry On Painting, a satire on cheap daytime television have both been produced in Keswick and Penrith.

Ofgod, (what might happen if the God of our part of the Cosmos was subjected to an inspection) was produced at Wigton.

The Mandrake, a rewrite of Machiavelli’s play, ran for 5 days at Penrith Theatre

I have served as chair of NCS and part of one of my plays was workshopped in Keswick in June 2026.
