I have been a member of the group for about 7 years, but have been
writing since my teens. When teaching I wrote and produced plays and concerts
for the school, always ensuring there were available parts for all abilities. A
number of schools have also put on productions of my work. I have written
articles for newspapers and magazines and contributed to a project which
published materials for more able pupils.
Since being with NCS, I have had my work broadcast on Radio Cumbria and this year my play, All Quiet on The Family Front, was staged at the Theatre by the Lake (TBTL), Keswick and at Penrith and Wigton. My play Carry On Painting was performed at Penrith and TBTL where the theatre the Elders' Group also performed my short play, The Jeeves And Wooster Appreciation Society. Most recently, Ofgod, a satire on the current climate of 'inspections', was staged for three nights at the John Peel Theatre, Wigton.
